Africa

Africa is the second largest continent after Eurasia. The territory of the continent is washed in northern side by the Mediterranean Sea, in north-eastern side by the Red Sea, in the west by the Atlantic Ocean, from the east to the south by the Indian Ocean. On the African territory are located 55 states. The population of Africa is about a billion people. Africa is considered to be the ancestral home of mankind: it is here found the oldest remains of early hominids and their possible ancestors. English, Portuguese, French are the official language in many countries. Africa is the hottest continent on the planet. The reason for this is the geographical location of the continent: the whole territory of Africa is in hot climatic zones and the mainland is crossed by the line of the equator. It is in Africa the hottest place on Earth, Dallol. To the north is the largest in the world Sahara desert, in the south – the Kalahari Desert, in the south-west – the Namib Desert. Northern and southern tip of the mainland is a part of the respective sub-tropical belt. Victoria, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world can be called among the natural sights of Africa. The main point is the famous African volcano Kilimanjaro. At the same time it is the highest peak of the continent where the snow lies all year round. Between the Rivers Crocodile and Limpopo is formed National Park which arranges study tours for tourists. At this point, the animals settled down comfortably in the natural living conditions. Speaking about Africa one cannot but mention the islands. Their tourist destination turned out to be much happier than in continental countries – sunny Canaries offer not just a beach holiday but also the world’s best parties, Madagascar attracts by amazing wildlife and white sandy coastline, Mauritius invites to the emerald green jungle, and the Seychelles like no other force to believe that there is a paradise on Earth. Safari lovers should pay attention to East Africa, for example, to Tanzania, a country in which there are lots of national parks and unique nature. In southern Africa is the most advanced country on the continent – South Africa, the realm of the economy and modern technologies.
